MALAYAN Banking Bhd (Maybank) (1155) has so far opened nine branches in Cambodia to reach out to the customers there and tap the growing economic opportunities from improving external demand and easing credit conditions.
“Cambodia is expected to grow over 4 per cent this year and we see good prospects for the country, which continues to attract strong foreign investment.
“Given the overall positive outlook of the country, we will also see loan growth in our Cambodian operations,” Maybank global wholesale banking head Abdul Farid Alias said in a statement.
With the latest branch unveiled in Sihanoukville yesterday, Abdul Farid said Maybank now has nine branches. The bank plans to open two more by the end of next year.
